	MONTREAL OUTGAMES 2006 REAL ATHLETES, REAL GOALS, REAL DREAMS. Sport has the power to transcend culture, nationality, religion – in essence,“difference”. It levels the playing field; not just in sport,in life. It brings people together in a way unlike any other activity, breaking down barriers and building bridges. From 26 July to 5 August 2006, the 1st World Outgames will do just that,bringing together lesbian, gay,bisexual,and transgender (LGBT) athletes from around the world in unprecedented numbers for a celebration of sport, culture and human rights.In the spirit of true inclusiveness, the Outgames are open to all,regardless of sexual orientation; all are welcome to participate.

	MONTREAL OUTGAMES 2006 OFFICIAL PARTIES
	The Welcome Gala \| Friday, 28 July This event will take place on Friday, 28 July, in a popular venue, Metropolis, which offers several technological & artistic possibilities. A spectacular former theater, the Metropolis is now a multidisciplinary venue where the BBCM holds some of its most festive events regularly, such as the Hot & Dry Party and the Military Ball (during the Black & Blue Festival). For the Welcome Gala, the BBCM will welcome, amongst others, Montréal 2006 representatives, as well as government officials. Several participating athletes will also be present for the cocktail. The night will continue until 3:00 to celebrate the beginning of the 1st World Outgames and to greet the athletes and visitors. This gala is also opened to the Montréal residents or visitors who are not registered as Montréal 2006 participants. body

	The Opening Party \| Saturday, 29 July Also at Metropolis, this event will take place on Saturday, 29 July, and will be an all-night blow-out party. This event will be THE party to attend on the first weekend of the Outgames. On this special occasion, the BBCM team will organize a high caliber event with major production values and international DJs, as well as special effects, special shows and entertainment all night.

	The Closing Party \| Friday, 4 August The BBCM is mostly recognized for its imposing events such as the past editions of the Black & Blue Festival. During the 1st Outgames, our team of experts in the organization of special events will dedicate its resources and energy to create a spectacular event at Palais des congrès (Montréal Convention Centre) on Friday, 4 August. This all-night party will offer a friendly, all inclusive atmosphere and will end the Outgames on a high note and will take place until 10:00 the next day. It will feature what the BBCM is well-known for : a massive event with internationally renowned DJs, major interactive shows, impeccable sound and lights and great logistics. The artistic director of the event is Mr. Denis Brossard, a former artistic director of several Black & Blue main events (1995 to 2002).
