The Self-Confidence Quiz

How self-confidant are you? Most of us think we are pretty self-confidant, yet we often wonder why we aren’t getting more out of life. What stops us from taking risks? What keeps us stuck in dead end jobs, or unhappy relationships. Could we possibly be less confident than we think? Why not take this quiz and find out?

Ask yourselves these questions, and answer with a yes or a no. Then add them up.

  • Do you feel uncomfortable being around other people?
  • Do you something worry that others are criticizing or judging you.
  • Do you find it very intimating to speak up and assert yourself?
  • Do you get very nervous or fearful whenever it is time for your work evaluation?
  • Do you panic when you have to speak in public?
  • Do you find it hard to accept a compliment?
  • Do you find yourself avoiding social situations because of your discomfort being with other people?
  • Do you feel alone, even when surrounded by friends?
  • Do you suffer with sweaty palms, trembling, , dizziness, light headedness, fear of dying, fear of going crazy, fear of losing control, irritability, headaches, frustration, difficulty falling asleep?
  • Do you often worry about the “what ifs” of every situation?
  • Do you wonder if you will ever be able to stop worrying?
  • Do people tell you that you should “chill out” and that you worry too much?
  • Do you feel that if you don’t do something perfectly, than others will judge you?
  • Do you find yourselves going over things over and over again?
  • Do you focus on the thought that you may have inadvertently hurt someone or yourself, or done something very wrong?
  • Do you worry about having every sort of disease you see on TV?
  • Do you find it hard to make decisions and keep on second-guessing yourself?
  • Do you think that other’s opinions are better or more valuable than your own?
  • Do you find it heard to concentrate on the positive events in your life for any length of time, without minimizing it and forgetting it quickly?
  • Do you find yourself forgetting the compliments you receive yet focusing on any small criticism over and over again?
  • Do you find it hard to follow through on goals you make or bad habits you want to break?

If you scored “yes” to 6 or more of these questions, you probably have some issues with anxiety and a lack of confidence, which can affect your ability to be assertive. The good news is that I can teach you the skills and techniques to make the change to become more assertive, while still being seen as kind and approachable.

The other good news is that I have been asked to offer an Assertiveness course. This course will help you to become more self-confident and assertive. It will start on September 14, 2010. It will be 8 sessions in the evening from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Please check my website for more details at: www.helphelpmerhonda.ca

I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time. Anna Freud, 1895-1892 Psychoanalyst

More special news:
As you know, I have recently moved to Pierrefonds. I am sure you will love my new office and the big room I have available is warm and inviting. However, the move was extensive and exhausting and I ended up with tendonitis and bursitis and a lot of pain. I tried anti-inflammatory medication but it didn’t help much. Then I met a very special lady. Her name is Shirleen Johnson and she is a Reiki Master and Practitioner. Not only is she amazing, but she actually does house calls and has very reasonable fees. I had so much relief from only one session, that I begged her for one more. Now, after only 2 sessions with her, I have full movement of my arm, no pain and no pills. Shirleen has offered to give you the same great service as I received. She said just call her at 514-656-0838 or email her at shirleenjca@yahoo.ca and tell her I recommended her to you and she will also give you a 10% discount and still come to your house for the session. How great is that???

Please let me know what you think.
